3. Edgar Renteria, Shortstop, San Francisco Giants
Renteria was once the premier shortstop of the National League, but by the time he came to the Giants he looked more like a washed up veteran with subpar stints in Boston, Detroit and now San Francisco under his belt.
Once the calendar turned to October, however, Renteria turned back the clock to 1997 when he delivered the World Series-clincing hit for the Florida Marlins by once again icing a Fall Classic with a three-run go-ahead home run off of CLiff Lee in Game 5 of the 2010 Fall Classic. The four-bagger was Renteria’s second of the Series to go along with a .412 batting average and six RBIs.
