No. 11: South Carolina

Opponent: Vanderbilt (Away)

Some were suggesting that Steve Spurrier was playing for his job on Saturday as the Gamecocks won a massive game against Georgia. That’s pathetically ridiculous, as the longtime coach has plenty of chips to burn before job security is even discussed.

However, he did save their 2014 season and South Carolina remains in play for a SEC title, assuming they take care of business against a pitiful Vandy team this week. Following two disgusting losses to Temple and Ole Miss, the very non-imposing Commodores were lucky to pull out a 3-point home win against UMass and are essentially playing for pride at this point.

Is pride enough to defeat a faster, stronger and more savvy South Carolina team? Probably not but don’t be stunned if they whip out a cute bag of tricks and keep it close into the second half.
