No. 1: Nebraska

Opponent: Miami – FL (Home)

Nebraska let out some serious frustration on the Fresno State Bulldogs on Saturday following a frustrating 31-24 win over FCS foe McNeese State a week earlier. Unfortunately for the Huskers, we still remember that debacle in Lincoln in which they needed a magical run from Heisman contender Ameer Abdullah to yank them from a potential nightmare loss. Bo Pelini may have lost his job had Nebraska dropped that game but now they’re thinking Big Ten title.

Before that conference slate begins they get a confusing Miami (FL) team at home and sit as 7-point favorites. Everyone knows Al Golden’s team has the athleticism to run with just about anyone but they’ve been largely unimpressive in 2014, starting with a shellacking in Louisville three weeks ago. The Hurricanes should fall, but that McNeese State game is way too fresh to think an upset isn’t highly possible.
