The Ohio State Buckeyes appear to have a legitimate shot of squeaking into the College Football Playoff if a couple things fall right for them, the most obvious of which is winning their final two regular season games and defeating Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game. However, if Urban Meyer’s squad is able to do so and gets a little help from some SEC and ACC teams, his freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett will begin preparing OSU for their playoff game.
In leading his team team to a 9-1 record and generating legitimate Heisman buzz, Barrett has engineered an unexpected 2014 season in Columbus. Following the stunning announcement that Braxton Miller would miss the entire season with a shoulder injury, the Buckeyes were given no chance of reaching the playoff by the HEAVY majority of media members and opinionated fans. Now that Barrett has a decent chance of earning a ticket to the Heisman Trophy ceremony and a place in the 4-team College Football Playoff, let’s revisit that days in mid and late August that followed the announcement of Miller’s injury to see what fans were saying about Ohio State on social media.
