TCU at Minnesota
Thursday, September 3rd
Despite an incredible rebuilding job by Jerry Kill over his first four years at Minnesota, the Gophers largely remain an afterthought in the national picture but that could change dramatically with an opening night primetime matchup against a top three opponent in TCU.
The TCU nation is undoubtedly still fussy over their exclusion from the College Football Playoff and it’s safe to assume they’re aiming to prove the committee and others wrong in 2015. The Horned Frogs dominated Minnesota in last year’s game in Fort Worth and while a second victory to close out the home-and-home series would be nice, it’s far from monumental, making this tilt a significantly larger opportunity for the Gophers than TCU.
