After a string of disappointing releases, Madden NFL 12 delivered on its soundtrack with a combination of old school classics by hip hop legend such as A Tribe Called Quest and Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth coupled with some new releases from Hip Hop titans in the Beastie Boys, a post-incarcerated Lil Wayne, and Common featuring Nas.
Perhaps the most eyebrow-raising inclusion on the game’s soundtrack was MellowHype’s “On Ya Mind.” With OFWGKTA mania in full effect, the duo of Hodgy Beats and Left Brain exposed Odd Future to a wider audience and gave the 2012 edition of Madden some swag despite having Peyton Hillis as its cover boy.
