2. Madden NFL 2002
Certified Bangers: “Mathematics (Instrumental Version),” by Mos Def and “Down for the Count,” by Talib Kweli
Damn, Son. Where’d You Find This?: ” Madden 2002 Theme,” by Pharaohe Monch
Big ups to EA Sports for absolutely nailing the soundtrack for Madden NFL 2002. Consisting of only three songs, the trio of instrumentals featured in the game where absolute bangers.
The beat to Mos Def’s “Mathematics” served as the perfect head nodding music for gamers as they updated their depth charts and were able to create a team for the first time, while the Lennox Lewis-introduced “Down for the Count” served as a more than worthy second act.
Meanwhile, Pharaohe Monch “thirsted for first downs” and warned players to “take no shorts” on his specially recorded “Madden 2002 Theme.”
Simply speaking, the Madden NFL 2002 Soundtrack is a classic.
