7. Craig Counsell, Second Base/Shortstop, Arizona Diamondbacks
Craig Counsell was already part of postseason lore as a Florida Marlin by scoring the game-winning run in Game 7 of the 1997 World Series against the Cleveland Indians. Counsell was once again part of a Fall Classic-clinching rally in 2001, when he was on-base for the Arizona Diamondbacks when Luis Gonzalez hit his walk-off bloop single off of Mariano Rivera and the New York Yankees.
Prior to his second walk-off championship rally, Counsell starred for the D-Backs with his wacky batting stance against the St. Louis Cardinals in the NLCS. The infielder hit .381 with four RBIs and five runs scored, with his biggest moment coming when he laced a two-run double in the fourth inning of Game 4 to extend Arizona’s lead to 6-2 in an eventual 11-4 victory.
