Album: Alt-J – An Awesome Wave (2012)
This album is about a year old, but it’s never quite found it’s way off my playlist since it came out. alt-J’s experimental, multi-dimensional sound and lead singer Joe Newman’s voice make them intriguing to listen to. This British indie rock quartet has been compared to Radiohead, and although I hear shades of something familiar, their sound is also something completely new. The eccentricity of it doesn’t quite make sense on the first listen, but gets better and better on repeat.
