March Madness is a phenomenal time anywhere in the world, but particularly in Las Vegas, where droves of hungry fans are throwing down serious cash on every game. There was no exception for the VCU-Ohio State game on Thursday night, a game in which the No. 10 seed Buckeyes were favored to win by 3.5 points. In the closing seconds of overtime, they led the Rams by five points, meaning many bettors were screaming for Shaka Smart’s team to hit a meaningless bucket at the buzzer.
Luckily for those folks, they did indeed hit a layup that had absolutely zero impact on the game and it made a lot of people at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook very happy. This happens very often in sports therefore it’s not a particularly shocking developing but still fun to see (except for those betting on OSU to cover 3.5).
