The Oklahoma State Cowboys will have a huge uphill battle to meet the lofty standards they set for themselves last season (a season which still ended in gut-wrenching defeat). Head coach Mike Gundy faces the imposing task of replacing 14 starters and 28 seniors from what was one of the most talent-filled squads in Oklahoma State history. On offense, the team should enjoy a good running and passing attack. Desmond Roland will return to take handoffs and the wide receiver position is loaded with talent such as Brandon Sheperd and Marcell Ateman. Expect a greater decline on the defense. Oklahoma State lost seven starters and the linebacker and secondary positions will be vulnerable. Expect Oklahoma State to compete in the Big 12 given their track record and head coaching but they’ll face an uphill battle reaching the National Championship.
