The good news for Notre Dame as they try to bounce back from a disappointing 2013 season is that they’ll have quarterback Everett Golson back after he was suspended early last year for academic fraud. His return to the lineup should spell good things for Notre Dame and his presence should open up the running game for Tarean Folston, Greg Bryant and Cam McDaniel. As for the defense, the unit allowed 22.4 points per game but that number is skewed due to how much time the unit had to stay on the field. Given that, the unit actually performed quite well last year and there’s not much reason to think that’ll be any different this season. The defensive line will need some addressing heading into the season but the rest of the unit is still fairly solid.

The Fighting Irish’s National Championship odds are 68-1.
