4. Scott Brosius, Third Base, New York Yankees
After coming over from the Oakland Athletics prior to the season, Brosius turned out to be a godsend for the Yankees in their historic 1998 season and a staple of late century New York dynasty teams.
Bro hit .300 and just missed surpassing the 100 RBI plateau with 98 ribbies during the regular season. In the ’98 World Series, Brosius hit .471 with six RBIs and had a memorable Game 3 performance in which he jacked two homers, including the eventual game-winning three-run tater off of lights out closer Trevor Hoffman in the top of the eighth inning.
Broisus would go on to win two more World Series rings with the Yanks in 1999 and 2000 and would make one more appearance in the Fall Classic in 2001 before retiring at season’s end.
