David Beckham was able to show off his defensive skills during the second half of Manchester United’s Gary Neville testimonial match against Juventus on Tuesday. A testimonial match is a friendly played where older members of a squad join back up again to pay tribute to a retiring player. A precocious young lad hopped on the pitch and started running around like a madman.
Beckham took a moment away from lining up his corner kick to corner in the young fan between him and some security folks who were failing miserably. He eventually grabbed the young boy and handed him off to security. Well done.
