Soccer injuries are mostly ridiculed, with critics blasting the sport’s players for flopping and faking injuries as if they were in a dramatic 5th grade school theatrical production. However, there are some circumstances in which soccer players suffer legit injuries and they can be extremely gruesome, as was the case during the United State-Myanmar Under-20 World Cup game.
During their match in New Zealand on Saturday morning, Myanmar’s Thiha Htet Aung took an inadvertent, but extremely vicious, shot to face from a teammate’s elbow. The result was a heap of blood and a helplessly dazed look from the youngster:
