The USMNT and Belgium will square off against each other in the World Cup today but it’s not the only contest where both nations will be represented.
In the UK, Matthew Barzun, the United States Ambassador to the United Kingdom, challenged Guy Trouveroy, the Belgium Ambassador to the United Kingdom, to a friendly wager.
Per Barzun’s bet, if the US wins, the Belgium Embassy will have to cook some waffles for the American embassy. If the Belgians win, the US will cook some good ol’ fashion American pancakes for Belgium embassy.
No matter what happens, someone is winning a pretty good breakfast. And soon, our playful stance against all-things Belgium waffles will soon be over.
