The Kings gave the Oilers a nice ass-whoopin’ at home in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, and they weren’t very merciful about it either. Tyler Toffoli scored one of six Kings goals against Edmonton and his tally was one the better goals (maybe even the best) we’ve seen so far this young NHL season.
While shorthanded halfway through the first period, Toffoli carried the puck into the zone and looked like he had the puck on a string as he toyed with Oilers defenseman Brad Hunt, finally putting Hunt out of his misery only when he decided to absolutely roof the biscuit top shelf on goaltender Viktor Fasth.
I have a habit of constantly dumping on the Oilers’ D (and usually they deserve it) but that was just so, so, so nasty.
