If there is a lesson to be learned here, it’s that Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith pays fairly close attention to what’s said about him online.
On Tuesday morning, Houston Chronicle reporter Stephanie Stradley posted an old video of Steve Smith doing Steve Smith things to the Houston Texans.
Gotta say @89SteveSmith is a certified badass. This is the most Steve Smith play ever: https://t.co/njGt6V9kEE

As is often the case when someone praises someone else on Twitter, someone else jumped in unceremoniously to piss on the parade. In this case, the troll was @DawgsByNature, the Twitter account for SB Nation’s Browns blog.
The same guy who broke a team mates nose and challenged other players to fist fights? He's a punk. https://t.co/YveXosmph8

Despite not tagging Smith himself, the outspoken wide receiver found the Tweet and decided to address @DawgsByNature himself:
@DawgsByNature I'm in Ohio twice this year you can test out your theory if you want to Boo!!!😎
@StephStradley good looking my dude

Things pretty much devolved from there. The troll stated that Joe Haden would make Steve Smith disappear, Smith threw around Warcraft as an insult, @DawgsByNature dug up old articles on Smith’s past altercations, and Smith ended things by posting a picture of his kids.
With the @Browns secondary this season I probably won't see you in Cleveland. @joehaden23 makes people disappear https://t.co/NNfHXaoAQV

Your reply is exactly what I thought you were. You seem like a guy who wastes many hrs of the day playing #warcraft https://t.co/UkBD0HTZH6

What were you expecting? A time & place to fight? I'm an adult. My dad can beat up your Dad too. https://t.co/3yPp9XFsbI

Look at you dripping 😹 juice all over Twitter… I'm done with you now 🎤 https://t.co/b6gI7I0jZr

All I said is that he isn't a bad ass, he is a punk who beats up team mates. Think he showed that I was correct. https://t.co/UvXK12Dcc0

Just a reminder on why Steve Smith is not a bad ass but a punk. Them's are the facts. @89SteveSmith pic.twitter.com/xzexw0J7eM

Basically, Steve Smith’s Twitter fights aren’t that different from anyone else’s. The internet is truly a democracy.
