Panthers 30- Rams 15
A heated game with several fights and personal fouls will only be remembered for two things. The Panthers got a second straight victory scoring 30 or more points and the Rams lost Sam Bradford for the season with a torn ACL. This could mean the end for the Rams as back up Kellen Clemmons threw as many incomplete passes in four attempts as Cam Newton threw all game.
Chragers 24- Jaguars 6
Not a whole lot to talk about here. The Jaguars fall to 0-7 on the season losing every game by double digits. The only thing the Chargers should be proud of is that they were not the first team to look past the Jaguars and get upset. Mark my words, with as poorly as the Jaguars are playing, some team is bound to let their guard down. It is like when a movable object meets a very stoppable force.
49ers 31- Titans 17
The 49ers took care of business starting the fourth quarter with a 24-0 lead in Jake Locker’s return as quarterback of the Titans. The fourth straight win by the 49ers could have players looking ahead to the playoffs but Coach Jim Harbaugh preached taking it one game at a time. Harbaugh understands that winning in the NFL can come in bunches or elude you like a black cat who accidentally got a white stripe painted down her back avoids Pepe Le Pew.
Packers 31- Browns 13
Aaron Rodgers kept his team calm and ready through a week riddled with injuries on their way to a win over the surprisingly competitive Browns. With a receiving core already missing James Jones and Randall Cobb, the Packers lost Jermichael Finley who left the field on a stretcher. Finley was reported to have feeling in all of his extremities so hopefully he will make a full recovery. While the injury was scary, in a week where it seemed like the Packers had to pull guys off of the street to play wide receiver, saddest sight on Sunday at Lambeau was the most famous smile in franchise history get wiped off of Donald Driver’s face when they told the long time double cheeseburger salesman he would not be needed for the game.
Chiefs 17- Texans 16
The rich got richer, and the poor poorer in this game. The Chiefs remain the only undefeated team left in the NFL and look impressive in all three phases of the game. The Texans lost Arian Foster and Brian Cushing to injuries in a game when Case Keenum started at quarterback for the injured Matt Schaub. The season for the Chiefs is shaping up like a Blockbuster movie script, while the season for the Texans seems more like a bad improve crew on an off night.
Steelers 19- Ravens 16
Divisional rivalry games, no matter how poorly one team might be playing, are always dangerous. The Ravens and the Steelers own one such rivalry, the latest chapter featured the Steelers pulling out a home win over defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. If divisional rivalries are like fist fights between brothers, this one left both brothers bruised and bloodied while the Bengals skip further ahead unscathed with the girl the two brother were fighting over (the Divisional lead).
