Last month, Odell Beckham Jr. decided to sign with the Miami Dolphins, even though the team has an absolutely loaded group of wide receivers already, including Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. But he is still convinced that he will be able to make an impact for the team and be utilized in the offense.
During a recent interview, Odell Beckham Jr. said that Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel convinced him that there would be an opportunity of him to make an impact for the team.
“Watching the film, this reminds of a place I had a lot of success at, as far [as] the Giants,” Beckham said according to the Palm Beach Post. “The timing. And all the things [McDaniel] preaches. We talked about football and it got me excited. … Coach was mentioning that on third down, they were getting a lot of doubling both of them [Hill and Waddle]. And there’s just a lot of room for opportunity.”
Obviously, Beckham won’t be the primary target for the Dolphins this upcoming season, but it does sound like there will be a role for him in the offense. We’ll have to see what kind of impact he is able to make for the team this season.
