The Chicago Bears have lost three games in a row after what was a promising start to the season to find themselves sitting at 4-5.
Rookie quarterback Caleb Williams has shown flashes but has been inconsistent at times throughout the season. Williams was sacked nine times in Sunday’s 19-3 loss to the New England Patriots.
Head coach Matt Eberflus has promised massive changes to the offense, and now we have the team’s final decision on whether to bench Williams or allow him to continue developing, per one prominent league insider.
“Matt Eberflus says there won’t be a change at QB: ‘Caleb is our starter,’” reported Ian Rappoport on Monday.

Fans reacted on social media to the shocking news that the Bears would keep having its franchise quarterback start despite the injury risk and potential negative ramifications taking so many hits can have on young quarterbacks’ mental process.
“Caleb need to release the ball faster and we need to do better play calling and get kmet and rojo more involved,” one fan said on Twitter.
“There should be a head coach change. Bring back da coach!” a fan added.
“They are having a decent season. people need to chill. give him a little bit of time at least,” one fan added.
“The cope in chi town is strong. all the cw table pounders blaming everything except bad qb play is hilarious. it starts at “king” poles. passes on historic haul op & doesnt improve oline depth & thinks a rookie qb; two new WRs & an OC will solve everything. genius!” one particularly snarky fan added.
“It has to be hard to keep changing out QB’s,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Chicago ends up regretting its decision.
