In a move that, by now, is totally expected, the NFL has fined Marshawn Lynch $20,000 for making an obscene gesture during the Seahawks’ victory over the Green Bay Packers.
During the fourth quarter of the game, Lynch scored a 24 yard touchdown and run and proceeded to grab his crotch.
However, the NFL is likely not be done fining Lynch for the NFC Championship Game. According to Adam Schefter, Lynch skipped his post-game media duties after the game. Considering that Marshawn has already been fined $100,000 (over two separate incidents) for skipping media sessions, the NFL may look to up the fine considerably:
The NFL is considering fining Lynch “significantly more” than the $50,000 it has fined him in each of the past two seasons for not speaking to the media, something Lynch declined to do post-game again Sunday, per an NFL official.
It’s going to be hilarious if Marshawn Lynch is fined more for missing media appearances than the Pats will be for Deflate-Gate.
