The Chicago Bears officially decided to move on from former starting quarterback Justin Fields this weekend when they traded him to the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, not everyone within the Bears organization is happy about the decision.
Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet was planning to go out with friends to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Chicago, but he decided to stay in after hearing about the decision, calling the news “really upsetting.”
“I was planning to hit the city and go out, but then I got a call from Flus and the people with the Bears, and decided to stay in after the news with Justin,” Kmet said on the CHGO Bears podcast according to Pro Football Talk. “Obviously, really upsetting that it came to that, and where it was at that moment, but you kind of felt like the writing was on the wall with that.”
Obviously, this sentiment from Kmet led to a lot of reactions on social media.

We can’t overblow reactions by teammates. Fields was well-liked in the locker room. Let’s not forget when Travis Kelce was saddened by KC moving on from Alex Smith for Patrick Mahomes. That one worked out okay. https://t.co/ZRQklEEe5w

Justin as far as we know was respected in that locker room. Whoever they draft will need to ball out and be the ultimate teammate or it won't be a good environment. And let's not even talk about the fans.

It may be the right move for the Bears to move on from Fields and select Caleb Williams in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, but that doesn’t mean that everyone in the locker room is excited about the decision.
