Over the past several weeks, the status of Justin Fields with the Chicago Bears has been very much up in the air as the team decided whether or not to keep him as their starting quarterback going forward or use the No. 1 overall pick on a quarterback in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. But it seems like Fields might finally be getting an answer.
According to a report from NFL Draft analyst and insider Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda, the Chicago Bears and the Atlanta Falcons are “finalizing” a trade that would send Fields to Atlanta.
“Word in Indianapolis is the Chicago Bears are close to finalizing a deal which would send former first-round pick Justin Fields to the Atlanta Falcons,” Pauline wrote.
“It is not known if the deal will be finalized or even announced before the conclusion of the Combine. As I reported on Thursday, if the Falcons can’t come to terms with the Bears for Fields they will turn their attention to Baker Mayfield if he’s available when free agency commences.”
Obviously, this is some major news about one of the biggest storylines of the entire offseason, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.
