Preseason is a time for not only players to get back in the swing of things in advance of a new season, it’s also the time for broadcasters to do the same. ESPN broadcasted the Giants-Browns preseason game on Monday night, and when Browns offensive lineman Joe Thomas watched the game on an NFL Network replay, he spotted something peculiar.

Presumably, we all missed this during the game because it’s especially hard to pay attention to a Browns preseason game. Thomas being the first offensive lineman in NFL history is news to the hundreds of offensive linemen he’s played with and against.

Thomas has never played in a playoff game, and he has stuck through the muck in Cleveland through thick and thin to become one of the best offensive linemen in the history of football, but to say he’s the first? Somehow that strikes me as a stretch. But it’s good to see Thomas having fun with it, especially since this is more than likely to be another not fun season on the field in Cleveland.

But at least they have a future hall-of-fame offensive linemen who is also hilariously funny. That has to count for something, right Cleveland?
