Jimmy Kimmel has developed quite a feud with New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers over the past few months stemming from when Rodgers suggested that Kimmel’s name would be found on Jeffrey Epstein’s client list – which was not the case. And it seems that the feud reached another chapter this week.
Aaron Rodgers does not shy away from his belief in a number of conspiracy theories with CNN reporting this week that Rodgers had some doubts about the Sandy Hook shooting that killed 20 children and six adults. So on his show this week, Jimmy Kimmel had a little fun with Rodgers’ affinity for conspiracy theories by concocting one of his own.
“What the deep state won’t tell you is that Aaron Rodgers never played football,” Kimmel joked according to On3. “He’s not a football player. He faked his entire career. In fact, the first time he ever played in an NFL game was last year, the week before his first game with the Jets.
“Aaron’s body double, the guy who had played every single game for him before this, died of COVID, and they had nobody dumb looking enough to fill in. So, they had to bring in the real Aaron Rodgers and he had to go in and fake an injury on the third play of Opening Day, that’s why he only threw one pass.”
Rodgers has since responded to CNN’s reporting that he questioned the Sandy Hook shooting.
“As I’m on the record saying in the past, what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy. I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place. Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs that will allow us to prevent unnecessary loss of life. My thoughts and prayers continue to remain with the families affected along with the entire Sandy Hook community,” Rodgers said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
It’s not clear whether or not he will respond to Kimmel.
