Aaron Rodgers may now be one of, if not the best, quarterback in all of football but before he became Green Bay’s franchise quarterback (and before he was even received an athletic scholarship to play for Cal after spending one year at Butte Community College), Rodgers played high school football for Pleasant Valley High School in Chico, California.
The folks over at MaxPreps uploaded a video of some of Rodgers’ high school highlights and while they may not be very thrilling, one can see that Rodgers’ ability to roll out of the pocket to buy time for his receivers is one that he’s had for a very long time. Nothing like a NFL combine to get us in a throwback mode.
Rodgers wasn’t able to get any scholarship offers coming out of high school but it wasn’t due to a lack of success on the field. During his junior and senior seasons at Pleasant Valley High School, Rodgers set school records for single-season passing yards with 2,176 and total yards with 2,466.
