The Chicago Bears have a decision to make regarding current quarterback Justin Fields. The team currently holds the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and could choose to use it on a new quarterback like Caleb Williams or Drake Maye, parting ways with Fields. But that’s not what one star player wants them to do.
In a recent interview with the Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Bears star wide receiver DJ Moore made it quite clear that he wants the team to stick with Justin Fields as the team’s starting quarterback, though he acknowledges that it ultimately is not his decision.
“I advocated for [Fields] and to see it come through would be amazing, but if it doesn’t, I’ll still be happy,” Moore told the Sun-Times on Thursday. “I don’t get paid to make that decision. I just go out there and make as many plays as I can for the quarterback that’s back there, as I’ve shown this year. But it’d be nice to see Justin stay.”
But if the Bears do decide to move on from Fields and draft a rookie quarterback, as most expect, Moore is prepared for that, as well.
“Having a rookie come in would be the same as me coming in with Justin this year,” Moore said. “I would just have to hone in and be on the same page with him as fast as possible and just go from there. We’ll have to have a lot of communication.”
We’ll have to see what the Bears ultimately decide to do.
