The New York Giants are having a rough season. Things are going so bad in New York that fans on social media were celebrating when the team lost to the Carolina Panthers in the NFL’s Munich game because they’d prefer if the team got a higher draft pick.
A large part of the Giants’ struggles has fallen on the shoulders of quarterback Daniel Jones, who has been inconsistent and is struggling to push the ball downfield effectively. Things are going so poorly for Jones that there’s a chance he may be replaced as the team’s starter, per one insider.
“Giants HC Brian Daboll said they are “evaluating everything” when asked if Daniel Jones will remain the starting quarterback. Giants are going into their bye,” reported league insider Ari Meirov.

As if that wasn’t tough enough for Jones, another insider is reporting that the Giants also have a financial incentive to bench him.
“Giants are 3-13 in Daniel Jones’ last 16 starts. If he were to get injured and couldn’t pass a physical by March, he’d be owed $23 million fully guaranteed next year,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Fans reacted to the development on social media.
“Adam currently cyberbullying the Giants into benching Daniel Jones lol,” one fan said on Twitter.
“As an honest giants fan we need to draft Carson Beck,” one fan added.
“I just feel like it’s impossible for Drew Lock to be worse than what Daniel Jones has been this year,” one fan added.
“All of the reason to leave him in Germany,” added a fan.
“Is it finally time to admit that daniel jones is the worst player in nfl history?” one fan wondered.
If this is it for Jones in New York, it’ll be interesting to see where he lands.
