The Chicago Bears were chosen as this year’s subject for HBO’s Hard Knocks docuseries, which isn’t typically the spotlight a team would want to put on a rookie starting quarterback trying to find his way in the league. But Caleb Williams is a little bit different in that regard.
During a recent press conference, Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was discussing the team’s upcoming appearance on Hard Knocks when he was asked if he thought Caleb Williams was “well suited” to be one of the central figures in the upcoming docuseries. And Eberflus quickly agreed that was the case.
“I do, I really do,” Eberflus said at a press conference. “That’s a really good point. I do think he’s suited for that. He’s comfortable in his own skin, he knows who he is and he’s been out there for several years in terms of in the media . . . he’ll be good.”
Williams has been comfortable with the media for a long time given that he was a high-profile recruit coming out of high school, was one of the most noteworthy players at the college level for three seasons, and won the Heisman Trophy. He’s very much used to the spotlight, so this shouldn’t be a problem for him.
