The Green Bay Packers are set to play the New England Patriots this week and the marquee matchup will feature two great quarterbacks in Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.

Such attention on the match up is understandable. While Rodgers has never started a game against a Bill Belichick squad, both he and Tom Brady have been among the NFL’s elite for years and the game should be an entertaining affair.

Of course, Bill Belichick has no time for such media-driven hype. The Patriots head coach was asked if his approach to the game would be different, seeing as how unfamiliar the Pats and Rodgers are with each other. His response bordered on the philosophical.

“It is what it is. Whatever hasn’t happened, hasn’t happened. I don’t really worry about it.”

When asked if there were any similarities between Brady and Rodgers, Belichick gave a perfect (and true!) answer.

Don’t worry Patriots fans, Belichick knows that there’s more to Aaron Rodgers than the fact that he wears the number 12.

“He’s a great player,” Belichick said. “He does a tremendous job, really at everything. He’s got no weak points, makes every throw, handles the team very well at the line — checks and adjustments. He certainly sees the defense well, uses all his weapons, makes great throws from the short ones (to) intermediate, down the field, sidelines, back shoulders, deep routes, and then he has a great ability to extend plays, either sliding in the pocket or at times scrambling outside the pocket. “They’ve made a lot of plays this year on things like that, where he either buys extra time or just flat-out gets away from the rush and lets the receivers uncover. He’s a hard guy to tackle, hard guy to get and a very good thrower, very accurate thrower and has great vision. He’s really good.”
