The Chicago Bears are looking to get things turned around with former number-one overall pick Caleb Williams. Former head coach Matt Eberflus wasn’t the guy for the job, and Chicago fired him shortly after a disappointing Thanksgiving Day loss to the Detroit Lions.
The Bears have since hired Ben Johnson, the former offensive coordinator of those same Lions, and Johnson is ready to get to work. Johnson isn’t taking his new role lightly either.
One of his first moves will be firing offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, among others.
“Interim head coach Thomas Brown, interim OC/WRs coach Chris Beatty, OL line coach Chris Morgan, QB coach Kerry Joseph and defensive coordinator Eric Washington will not be retained by the Bears,” reported The Athletic’s Adam Jahns.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Thank god we sent C-Mo thru the moon door,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Whoever coached to O-Line should be deported, not just fired,” one fan who was disgusted with the Bears’ offensive line added.
“Really hope the best for Thomas Brown, regardless of how it went, he was the coach that helped us beat GB in Lambeau and I’m grateful for that!” one fan added.
“I hope one day we learn how C-Mo kept this job for so long, because it surely didn’t have anything to do with the performance of our o line in his tenure,” another person wrote.
It’ll be interesting who Johnson goes after to fill out his staff.
