Given that they both played at the same time and are both certainly future Hall of Famers, Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady have been compared to each other throughout their careers. But as Rogers made the controversial move of skipping New York Jets mandatory minicamp this month, one of Brady’s former teammates pointed out that Brady never did anything like that.
During a recent interview with Colin Cowherd on The Herd, former New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman had a pretty harsh message criticism for Aaron Rodgers as he compared him to Tom Brady, pointing out that Brady never skipped a mandatory minicamp in his career with the Patriots.
Edelman called Rodgers’ absence a “bad look” for Rodgers to miss the team’s mandatory minicamp when it was something Brady never did in his career.
“I think it’s a bad look for your leader, for whatever reason, to go and miss [a mandatory minicamp],” Edelman told Colin Cowherd on Friday. “I was with Tom Brady in his 25th year or 23rd year, and he started missing OTAs here and there, but he never missed a mandatory minicamp. I just thought it was a bad look.”
Clearly, Edelman respects the way that Brady handled these situations compared to how Rodgers decided to handle it.
