The New York Jets can’t seem to get their leaders on the same page.

In the Jets’ Week Three win against the New England Patriots, there was a strange moment when head coach Robert Saleh attempted to hug star quarterback Aaron Rodgers after a touchdown, and Rodgers shoved the head coach in the chest.

Rodgers and Saleh both downplayed the incident and laughed it off, but now it seems the pair have their wires crossed again. Week Four saw the Jets lose at home shockingly to the Denver Broncos, and Saleh wondered post-game if the team was ready to deal with Aaron Rodgers’ cadence at the line of scrimmage or if it was adding unnecessary complications.

According to Pro Football Talk, Rodgers pushed back on the idea, saying he wasn’t sure the Jets needed to “make mass changes based on kind of an outlier game.”

On Monday Saleh sang a different tune, saying “We’re always going to push the envelope with cadence.”

The entire ordeal led to Rodgers being asked about his relationship with his head coach on one of his regular appearances on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday.

“Rob and I have a great relationship,” Rodgers clarified. “We have since day one when I got here. We have text message conversations, threads that we’re in, conversations about a number of different topics outside of football. We have a good friendship.”

It’ll be interesting to see if Rodgers keeps his positive attitude if the Jets continue to struggle.
