Aaron Rodgers has never been one to bite his tongue.

So it’s hardly a surprise that after a play went wrong at the New York Jets’ practice on Monday, the four-time MVP voiced his concerns.

In fact, Rodgers was so upset that ESPN’s Rich Cimini referred to the 40-year-old quarterback as “hot.” According to Cimini, the issue occurred when another player — either left guard John Simpson or center Joe Tippmann — stepped on Rodgers’ foot during a quarterback-center exchange.

While the incident was surely accidental, it’s not surprising Rodgers would be upset with what he likely viewed as a careless mistake. After all, it was just last year that the Cal-Berkeley product saw his 2023 season end after just four snaps after he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in his debut with the Jets.

Despite hinting he could return, Rodgers ultimately remained sidelined for rest of the 2023 campaign. But it’s clear he’s entering his second season in New York with lofty expectations, even going as far to proclaim the Jets a Super Bowl contender.

“It has to be the goal. The beauty is, every single year there’s 8-to-12 teams — maybe, probably less — but 8-to-12 teams that can actually do it. We’re one of those 8-to-12,” Rodgers said in a video shared on social media by SNY last week.
