Legitimate complaint or insanely good troll-job of a divisional rival? Either way, this is really funny.
Last week, the Chicago Bears got blown out by the Green Bay Packers and even the term “blown out” doesn’t even quite do justice to the 55-14 stomping that the Packers gave the Bears. Aaron Rodgers threw for six touchdowns in the first half and Rodgers got a lot of rest during the second half as a result. In fact, he had so little to do that his back started to stiffen up from all of the not-quarterbacking he had to do.
My low back was actually hurting…I think I attributed that to standing around the entire time as the second half went on, not [from] anything that happened on the field…The guys took really good care of me on the field. I barely got touched all game, but my back actually got a little tight on the sideline…I forgot what a strain that can be to stand there and watch.
Is there such a thing as a humble-brag injury? Because if there isn’t, Aaron Rodgers just created one.
“What’s that? Oh yeah, my back is feeling a little stiff because I obliterated my divisional rivals so badly that I literally stood in place for about half a game and we still won by 41 points. Have I mentioned I’m a franchise quarterback and I do my own State Farm commercials?”
Hopefully, future opponents will be more thoughtful of Rodgers’ back and not put up a performance as embarrassing as the Bears so that Rodgers can active and keep his back loose for the entire football game.
