Cody Journell Virginia Tech’s kicker was released from the team today and now has quite the dilemma. What makes this story particularly interesting? The former Hokies kicker has his image featured upon the tickets for this weeks upcoming game against Maryland. I have to say this is pretty comical. In the end however, one can’t say that this kid didn’t have his fair shot. Journell was suspended earlier in 2013 and was also in trouble last year and suspended for seven games as the result of breaking and entering charges.

Journell was 44-for-58 on field goals and 101-for-106 on extra points as a Hokie.
According to CBS:
Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer announced on Wednesday that Journell had been dismissed from the team due to a violation of team policies. Beamer also said he will have no further comment on Journell’s dismissal.
