After a six-year NFL career, Vince Young will be back in Austin, working for the University of Texas. And he’ll be making at least a pretty okay $100,000 a year.

Young won’t be coaching for the football team — as of now. Instead, he will work for the University’s Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. He’ll primarily be working on raising money for programs that help first-generation and low-income college students.

Young, who retired from the NFL earlier this summer, had this to say in a statement:

The position with DDCE is a great way to stay connected to the university and help make a difference in the lives of underserved kids across the state.”

This just goes to show that you don’t need to be a good NFL player to be successful. If you can just manage to do pretty well at a football-crazed school like Texas, you’ll be alright ($100,000) in the end.
