Tim Miles might be on his last legs as the men’s basketball coach at Nebraska, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t get into the holiday spirit. Before the holiday, Miles dressed up as Santa, which looks and sounds really weird. But he had a good reason for doing this: to give a walk-on a scholarship.
Santa Miles had one last gift to deliver last night.

It looks like he’s delivering a cake (or cookie, but that’s one giant cookie), but it’s actually a scholarship for Tanner Borchardt, a junior forward from Gothenburg, Nebraska. And then, chaos, jumping around, happiness, mass hysteria!
Seeing walk-ons get scholarships will never get old, even if we’ve seen this shtick before. And yes, we’re writing about this one week after Nebraska beat UTSA in their final pre-Christmas game, but we aren’t going to say no to cool moments like this.
At least Tim Miles got a touch creative in how he did it, although he’s not going to be cast as Santa in any movies anytime soon.
