No. 12: Michigan State
Michigan State probably got the least offseason attention of any Rose Bowl winner in recent memory. The preseason No. 8 Spartans are now thinking national title but September 6th at Oregon is terrifying.
Yes, the remainder of the schedule is kind but a potential, albeit unlikely, embarrassment in Eugene could destroy morale for the next three months. Wins will come easily against Jacksonville State, Eastern Michigan, Wyoming, Rutgers and maybe Purdue but close games that don’t begin falling their way in the Big Ten could be devastating.
If they do not win at Oregon and Nebraska on October 4th, look out because Purdue and Indiana will want to pounce.
