Jeremiah Criddell made sure to throw a shot at Texas when announcing his decision to commit to Oklahoma.
Criddell, a four-star defensive back out of California, appeared on ESPN 2 to make his decision. After announcing he’s joining the Sooners, Criddell threw down a “horns down” gesture.
Criddell is playing perfectly into the Big 12 rivalry.
The trash talking has gone on forever between the two teams, with the most recent example being Texas defensive end Brecklyn Hager getting publicly reprimanded for saying “OU still sucks” after a 24-10 Texas win over Iowa back in November.
Criddell’s gesture is a little more subtle but is sure to fire up Texas when the two teams meet up next year. Coming in guns blazing is a bold move for Criddell, but you got to appreciate him embracing the rivalry. 2019 is going to be fun for the Sooners-Longhorns rivalry.
