Tristan Thompson’s name has been featured heavily in headlines for all the wrong reasons recently, as dating a Kardashian (Khloe), having a kid with the reality star, and a cheating scandal dominated tabloids in the last month – all while Thompson’s Cleveland Cavaliers battle in the playoffs.
Despite all the noise, Thompson appears to be enjoying fatherhood with his new daughter Dream. Opening up on the “Uninterrupted’s Road Trippin” podcast, Thompson admitted raising Dream has been “fun” and that it changed him.
“I think with a girl, you’re just so much more emotionally like…with a boy, it’s just like, ‘Hey man, you’ll be all right man. Stop crying,'” he said, comparing the relationship with his one-month-old daughter to the one he has with his 17-month old son, Prince, with model Jordan Craig. “But, it’s like, ‘True, it’s gonna be okay. You know, we’re right here. Daddy’s here to feed you. It’s me! Look, yeah!’ It’s way different, but it’s fun, though. It changes you.”
As easy as it might be to poke fun or meme Thompson for hooking up with a Kardashian and then cheating on her while she carried their child, hopefully, having Dream sets him on the right path in his relationship with his daughter and Khloe. Fatherhood changes people. Hopefully, it encourages Thompson to make better decisions off the court.
