In order to promote its flex plan (10 tickets for 10 nights!), the brain trust at the Atlanta Hawks have come up with a somewhat funny (but also kind of unsettling) concept of using “Ashley Madison” to promote the deal. Instead of cheating on your spouse, the Hawks would like it if people “cheated” on their old team and became Hawks fans instead.

Is the promotion a little uncomfortable? Yes, if only because the spot does a really good job of making it seem like Harry the Hawk wants far more than your Hawks allegiance.
Even Hawks chief marketing officer Steve Koonin seemed surprised that the “Ashley Madison” concept actually saw the light of day.
“Everyone thought it was a good idea, which actually scared me.”
The Hawks decided to use the Ashley Madison concept as a way to lure younger fans to buy bulk tickets. One has to credit Atlanta’s marketing team. Between this, last season’s Tinder night and 2 Chainz night, the Hawks are definitely getting creative in its attempts to lure fans to the arena.
