Myles Garrett isn’t afraid to call a spade a spade, as the second-year Cleveland Browns defensive end called out Kevin Durant for taking “the easy way out” by joining the Golden State Warriors and winning multiple NBA Championships.

The 2017 first overall pick joined 92.3 The Fan and said Durant set himself for “pretty easy success.”

“You hopped onto a 73-9 team and he took the easy way out in my mind,” Garrett said.

“With KD, you just stick him in and he scores. You already knew what they had. They were 73-9 before and you put the second-best player in the world on an already all-time great team and of course you’re going to have success, pretty easy success. Anyone can have an off night and they can still find a way to win.”

“Me, I’m too competitive to try and ride on somebody’s coat tails to get a W.

Is Garrett wrong? No. Durant absolutely took the easiest way out and chose hardware over legacy by joining the 73-9 Warriors after getting beat by them. It’s hard to say it was a risky move – it wasn’t, except for his image. However, it was a great move for him winning titles, even if it makes the NBA less fun when Durant cheat coded his way to Golden State.

Garrett plays with the Browns and knows getting the team to a winning place will be challenging. So, it’s understandable he thinks Durant “taking the easy way out” was a curious decision.
