Kyle Kuzma is a big fan of Isaiah Thomas burning the Cavs

Isaiah Thomas might have undersold his 20-9-5 performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday, but teammate Kyle Kuzma isn’t doing that.

After the Lakers guard came off the bench in a big way in the Lakers 127-113 win over his former Cavs team, Thomas described it as “not a revenge game,” and the deal was just a “business decision.”

If that sounds like bullshit, it’s because it is.

Thomas is a feisty competitor, and you bet he wanted to burn his former team – at least according to Kuzma.

“He was barking at Cleveland’s bench the whole time every time he scored, so that was cool,” Kuzma said at practice Monday.

“He was only there for like 15 games or whatnot, but it was good to see him try to kill them. We have a saying, ‘Your last team, they didn’t want you.’ So he took it to them and did a great job.”

Winning against the Cavaliers had to have a more significant meaning than ‘just another game’ for Thomas. He put up big numbers against his former Cavs teammates, and you bet – even if he’s not saying it to the media – it was a revenge game.

Honestly, Thomas’ mini-resurgence is refreshing. Hobbled and broken, he never got a chance to play healthy in Cleveland. Now he’s in L.A.; he’s impressing Kuzma and fellow teammates with his killer attitude and on-court performance.
