Back in 2020, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant was killed in a helicopter crash that also claimed the lives of eight other people, including his teenage daughter Gianna. And it seems like someone is now using the tragic incident to make a joke.
In a video shared by John-Carlos Estrada of CBS Austin, a person at a comic convention in China can be seen wearing a disgusting costume that parodies the tragic helicopter crash that killed Bryant, his daughter and seven others.
“Tasteless! A man who attended a recent comic convention in China wore a Kobe Bryant helicopter crash costume to the event, which sparked a ton of outrage here in the States. The offensive ensemble used plastic bottles, cardboard, a No. 24 uniform, and a Kobe mask,” Estrada said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

Obviously, this disgusting and tasteless costume quickly went viral for all the wrong reasons as people expressed their outrage at the disrespect toward the legendary NBA player and everyone else who died in the tragic crash.

Mindju Kobe’s popularity in China during the Redeem team run was insane, he couldn’t even walk outside with security but this stupid guy wants to act oblivious for shock value! https://t.co/0Ojds7XJYW

The intent of the costume was likely just to see attention, but it’s clear that it upset a lot of people.
