The Chicago Bulls are in a 2-0 hole to the Washington Wizards and mightily need a win in Game 3 tonight. That might explain why Joakim Noah, this year’s NBA Defensive Player of the Year, was getting a few extra shots during this morning’s shoot-around. When ordered to exit the court by the Wizards security manager, Jackie Miles, Noah took exception and the two got into a shouting match, according to the Chicago Sun-Times:
Miles came onto the Verizon Center hardwood and started screaming for Bulls players to exit so the Wizards could start their shootaround. Noah is usually the last Bull off the court in shootarounds, going through his morning routine, and wasn’t having any of it.
Noah told Miles, “Get the [bleep] out of here, I’m not done … get the [bleep] out of here.’’
Miles started firing back with, “Don’t [bleeping] talk to me that way,’’ and then again telling Noah to leave the court.
It didn’t stop there, as the two went back-and-forth for at least another minute, while Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was addressing the media just off the court.
The Chicago Sun-Times also reports that this isn’t the first time Noah and Miles have gotten into an argument. When the Bulls visited the Wizards during a January game, Miles yelled at Bulls players to get off “my court”. Tonight’s game just got a whole lot more interesting.
