Dwight Howard sent out an odd Tweet today (by odd we mean not something you would expect from him), which had the hashtag “FreePalestine” in the body. Within a few minutes the Tweet had over 2,000 retweets, and was captured by plenty of folks on the Internet. It also drew some very negative criticism on Twitter, as one would imagine. Here is a screengrab of the Tweet before it was deleted.
Shortly after, Dwight apologized for the Tweet claiming that it was a mistake. We won’t judge as to if it was a mistake or not, but it is easy to make mistakes when hashtags auto-fill sometimes.
previous tweet was a mistake. I have never commented on international politics and never will.
