Daniel Buerge of LakersNation.com sent out this tweet a few days ago, and nobody believed him — well, nobody wanted to believe him, is probably a more accurate statement. Apparently, the Oklahoma City Thunder are actually re-signing Derek Fisher to a one-year deal. However, the good news is the Thunder will have his services for the entire season. The bad news? The Thunder will have his services for the entire season. The signing also carries one significant revelation: someone (or some thing) has taken over Sam Presti’s body.
The Thunder general manager has followed up three stellar lotteries with an array of questionable moves — the James Harden trade, the team’s refusal to amnesty Kendrick Perkins, the fact Scott Brooks is still their coach — which could be detrimental to OKC’s fragile championship window.
Also, OKC has just struck out on the services of Mike Miller, which makes Presti’s off-season look that much worse.
