Richie Shaffer’s first major league hit couldn’t have been much more memorable.
The 24-year-old blasted an opposite-field homer into the bullpen while his family went nuts in the stands. When Shaffer got to the dugout, his teammates huddled together and gave him the silent treatment, so instead he gave some imaginary hugs and high fives. Of course, his teammates ended up mobbing him.
It really doesn’t get much better than that.
